Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, says there are still no clues about the motive behind the Colorado shootings that left 12 people dead at a movie theater early Friday morning.
He called suspect James Holmes "demonic."

"But you look at this person, again, almost a creature, I mean, if he couldn't have had access to the guns, what kind of bomb would've he manufactured. We are at a time of information age where there are all kind of access to information and, he was diabolic and demonic in this twisted sense, I think almost as a terrorist, he wanted to take away not just the people in that theater but the country ability to enjoy life, to go to a movie theater which for mos of us is a refuge we can get away from the rest of some of the pressures of life and, you now, I'm not sure, it is a human issue in some way. How are not able to identify someone like this who is so deeply disturbed."
Holmes, who was arrested in the movie theater parking lot shortly after the shooting is being held in solitary confinement. He is due to make his first court appearance Monday.
