It was a home victory for China as 23-year-old Yu Wenxia was crowned Miss World during the pageant hosted in the Chinese coal-mining city of Ordos on Saturday.
An estimated one billion people tuned in to see the music teacher win.
It is only the second time a Chinese woman has become Miss World.
