At least 24 people were killed in an ongoing wave of violence over two days in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi, local media reported on Wednesday (August 29).
An empty bus was torched by angry protesters on Tuesday (August 28) night after a political worker was killed in the central part of the city.
Many of the victims, killed by gunmen on Monday (August 27) and Tuesday, were connected to political and religious groups, according to local media.
Fourteen people, including seven political workers, were killed in separate incidents on Tuesday alone.
A city of more than 18 million, Karachi has a long history of violence, with ethnic, religious and sectarian disputes often exploding into battles that involve entire neighbourhoods.
