How to Form an LLC in the State of Tennessee under the State staute 48-249-201 & 202 that allows a resident to apply for a domestic Limited Liability Company that will allow the resident to transact business within the State.

Steps
1 Choose Your LLC Name. Choose the name of your LLC. This is the most important part of the LLC process and it is highly recommended that you choose a name that fits with your industry as well as can be built as a brand.
Check to see if the name you choose is already registered in the Tennessee LLC Database.
2 Get Articles of Organization. This is the official form you will use to apply to the State. You will need completely fill in this form as well as submit a filing fee to the Secretary of State's office.
Filing fee is $300.00 and should be in check made payable to the 'Secretary of State'. If you have more than 6 members in your LLC, you must submit $50 for every additional member.

3 Wait for Documents to Arrive. The next step in the process of forming an LLC is to wait for it to arrive in the standard mail. When applying for an LLC in Tennessee, the processing time for the State when they receive your application is approximately 5 to 7 business days.
4. Apply for an EIN Number. If you will be opening a company bank account or have more than 1 member in your LLC, you will need an Employer Identification Number or Tax ID Number that identifies you as a legal company within the United States.
