The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Kranji War memorial remembering the 4,458 Allied soldiers who died in World War Two.

Prince William and his wife Catherine, took part in a sombre ceremony to remember the war dead, laying a wreath at a memorial plaque inside the cemetery.

They were also taken around to view the graves of the fallen soldiers.

This Asia Pacific tour is part of celebrations marking the 60-year reign of Prince William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as the British monarchy seeks to maintain its relevance in a changing world.

Prince William and Kate are to travel to Malaysia later on Thursday.
