December in Moscow usually sees the streets filled with snow. But, for a short while this year, it was protesters against Russia's parliamentary election results. It was the biggest opposition demonstrations in Russia's recent history. They passed off peacefully, despite some ominous predictions. Martin McCauley, who is a Russian specialist at the University of London says mass protests will continue despite the fact that the opposition is split and doesn't have an ideology.
