Cats can often survive dangerous situations, which may be the reason why they are said to have nine lives.

Recently, a 6-month-old kitten survived a 55 minute cycle in a washing machine, which included two spin cycles.

The female kitty’s owner, Adele Law put some clothes in the washer and then left to grab a shower. When Law returned, she added some more clothes, closed the lid and started the washer. When the load was complete, the family heard a loud whine and discovered their kitten, named Possum. Apparently, the cat had climbed in the washing machine while her owner was showering.

Law stated “She's really fluffy, but she just looked like a rat, twisted and flattened”. Possum was rushed to the vet and stayed for several days before returning home.

Earlier this year, another cat survived a washing machine trip. The kitty, called Tabitha from Johannesburg, South Africa reportedly spent an hour and 45 minutes being tossed around in the machine. She was treated for hypothermia, but suprisingly avoided major injuries during the incident.
