An extremely heavy blast has turned a mountain in the south of Kyrgyzstan into an enormous pile of rubble. But it was all under control as the explosion was part of a construction plan for a new hydro power plant in the area. The blast's capacity appeared to be the equivalent of two and a half kilotons in TNT, comparable to a serious earthquake. Kyrgyzstan leader watching the operation has said that was a historic event for the country.
