A plea for help, a placard reading, "people help us", from the roof top of a prison in Kopeysk, eastern Russia. The protest was reportedly sparked in response to fellow inmates being held in punishment cells.
Events then turned ugly outside the prison walls where it is claimed riot police attacked a group of inmates relatives. Eight policeman were injured trying to disperse the crowd.
