Gitmo will not be closed by next year

Dina Gusovsky speaks to military defense lawyer and former marine Eric Montalvo. He is handling one of the most controversial Gitmo cases, representing Mohammed Jawad, a teenage detainee who has been cleared for release, but may be slapped with another criminal prosecution case. Montalvo says that the US government has been ignoring legal norms for over six years now, and also reveals that Jawad was tricked into confessing in the first place; therefore, another case against him would have no merit because the evidence is most likely fabricated. Montalvo also says that there is almost no way Guantanamo Bay will be closed by the deadline set forth by the Obama administration of January 2010.
