Popular South Korean actor Jang Hyuk has teamed up with top K-Pop star Yoon Du-jun for the TV series, "IRIS II."
Acting veteran Jang will play the role of a team leader in South Korea's National Security Service.
And Yoon, from the popular boy band BEAST, plays a young agent in the team.
Thirty-six-year-old Jang says he's focused on getting to know his character.
SOUNDBITE: Jang, actor, saying (Korean):
"Understanding my character in the drama is more important than describing or acting out the character to persuade viewers. To approach the viewers, story-telling itself is very important. So it's important to me to understand the character."
Yoon says he finds it challenging to separate his public image and his on-screen character and wonders how the role will affect his persona.
SOUNDBITE: Yoon, singer, saying (Korean):
"It's a burden to act for TV viewers as a K-Pop star since my image should be different on TV from my image on stage. But it's my obligation to handle it."
The show is a story of love, friendship and betrayal involving the spies of the the National Security System.
It also depicts a struggle between the agents and a secret organization at the time of tension between North and South Korea.
"IRIS II," will begin airing on the Korea Broadcasting System on February 13.
