My Little Disney: The Walrus and the Carpenter

There are songs that are easy. There are songs that are hard. There are songs that try my patience and songs that dull me to tears. And then there are songs that are so unexpectedly difficult that I wind up unable to do them at all. While this wasn't one of those, it came uncomfortably close.

When I started this one, my casting choices called for Iron Will (Walrus) and Spike (Carpenter) meeting the parasprites (Oysters). While they match up very well to the personalities, it didn't take me too long to find out that they were a horrible fit to the song. Those three just... didn't sync up well with each other. Even using Fluttershy (Mother Oyster) as a glue to hold them together, the pmv was just turning out terrible. And for the life of me, I couldn't come up with anyone who'd match up well with whoever I cast for the others.

So instead of giving up, I decided to try working with the spirit of the song rather than be shackled to the cast. The original tale was a story about organized religion devouring the masses. It took only a little bit of tweaking to turn it to how progress and big business are eating up the little guys. Not my usual work, but I think it's the best I could do.

Psst. Hey you, listen. Daga Yemar doesn't own My Little Pony or Disney. Pass it on.
