They may be vintage-inspired, but you heard it straight from Dita Von Teese herself: her new lingerie line is anything but dowdy.
The 40-year-old burlesque dancer is the force behind Von Follies, lingerie that celebrates lace, frills and all things feminine.
SOUNDBITE: Dita Von Teese, lingerie designer, saying (English):
"When I was very young, like six years old I was always very intrigued by my mother's lingerie drawer. And for me it was like lingerie was symbolic of womanhood and femininity. And kind of like a mysterious secret, but also physically very beautiful."
The sexy under garments are already a hit in Europe and Australia ... and now Von Teese is bringing her collection to the American television's Home Shopping Network.
Although lingerie isn't normally worn in public, Von Teese says slipping luxurious garments on under your outerwear can emit special powers.
